Washington D.C. – U.S. Term Limits (USTL), the leader in the non-partisan national movement to limit terms for elected officials, praises 2026 U.S. House candidate for Georgia, Krista Penn (District 1), for signing the pledge for an amendment to term limit Congress. Previously, candidates Andrew Yu , Brian Montgomery, Defonsio Daniels, Matt Day, Joseph Palimeno, Michael McCord, Kandiss Taylor, and Randy Zurcher also signed the pledge.

U.S. Term Limits has the support of more than 150 pledge signers in Congress. USTL President Philip Blumel commented on their pledges saying, “This overwhelming support of term limits shows that there are individuals who are willing to put self-interest aside to follow the will of the people. America needs a Congress that will be served by citizen legislators, not career politicians.”

The U.S. Term Limits amendment pledge is provided to every announced candidate for federal office. It reads, “I pledge that as a member of Congress, I will cosponsor and vote for the U.S. Term Limits amendment of three (3) two-year House terms and two (2) six-year Senate terms and no longer limit.”

Blumel noted, “We have seen a dramatic increase in supporters wanting term limits on Congress. More than 87% of Americans have rejected the career politician model and want to replace it with citizen leadership. The way to achieve that goal is through congressional term limits.”

According to the latest nationwide poll on term limits conducted by Pew Research, term limits enjoy wide bipartisan support. Pew’s analysis states, “An overwhelming majority of adults (87%) favor limiting the number of terms that members of Congress are allowed to serve. This includes a majority 56% who strongly favor this proposal, just 12% are opposed.”

Blumel concluded, “America is in trouble. Our career politicians have let the people down. It is time to return control of our nation to the people. It is time for a constitutional amendment limiting congressional terms.”

The term limits amendment resolutions would require a two-thirds majority in the house and senate, and ratification by 38 states, in order to become part of the U.S. Constitution.

Savannah, GA – Dr. Krista Penn, Republican candidate for Georgia’s 1st Congressional District and Commander in the United States Navy Reserve, will fulfill her military duty on active-duty orders from August 3, 2025 through August 15, 2025. During this time, Dr. Penn will not be actively campaigning in compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) regulations.

“As someone who has worn the uniform for over two decades, I take seriously the responsibility and privilege of serving when called,” said Dr. Penn. “While I will be stepping back temporarily from campaign activities, my commitment to the people of Georgia’s 1st District remains as strong as ever.”

Per DoD Directive 1344.10, active-duty service members are prohibited from participating in partisan political activities. Dr. Penn and her campaign team remain fully committed to compliance with all federal laws and military regulations.

Regular campaign activities, including email and social media responses, will resume following the conclusion of her active-duty service.

Savannah, GA – Dr. Krista Penn, a seasoned healthcare executive and Afghanistan War veteran, has officially declared her candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives in Georgia’s 1st Congressional District. Running as a Republican, Dr. Penn is offering voters principled, accountable leadership rooted in service, discipline, and real-world results.

“Leadership is about showing up, solving problems, and serving others,” said Dr. Penn. “That’s what I’ve done as a nurse, a military service member, and a healthcare leader—and that’s exactly what I’ll bring to Washington for Coastal Georgia.”

Dr. Penn brings over two decades of service in the United States Navy, including a deployment to Afghanistan, where she gained firsthand insight into national security challenges and the needs of military families. Her military service underpins her strong stance on border security, veteran support, and safeguarding American freedoms.

In the healthcare sector, Dr. Penn has held executive leadership roles at Southeast Georgia Health System, HCA Memorial Health, and Augusta University Health. Her work has resulted in multi-million dollar improvements in efficiency, clinical outcomes, and patient access, particularly in underserved and rural communities. She is nationally recognized for driving innovation in cardiac care, perioperative services, and strategic system growth.

Dr. Penn holds a Doctorate in Healthcare Administration, a Master’s in National Security and Strategic Studies, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her educational background complements her professional and military experience, giving her a deep understanding of both public policy and frontline service delivery.

Her campaign is focused on key priorities that reflect the values and concerns of families across Georgia’s 1st District:

· Securing the Border and ensuring public safety through lawful immigration enforcement

· Protecting Constitutional Freedoms, including free speech, religious liberty, and the Second Amendment
